ABOUT

A Challenge to Explore the Local Trails

The North Shore Way is a series of hikes, designed to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors and strengthen their connection with nature. The program is modelled on the Camino de Santiago also known asThe Way of St. James. Since the Middle Ages, thousands of people have participated in this program by hiking parts of the network of trails in Spain and France. With the North Shore Way challenge, people can have a similar experience on our local trails receiving the benefit of exercise, mindfulness, and a deeper connection to nature. In 2022 the program runs from Canada Day, July 1 st , to Labour Day, September 5 th , 2022.

Participants can track their progress digitally as each trailhead has a unique sign. We are also providing the opportunity to complete a passport as a keepsake. The passports cost $5 for adults and $2 for students and seniors. The passports and stamps will be available at a variety of locations. We will post more information on social media as it is finalized.

We’ve answered a lot of questions in the FAQ section and the brochure. Please contact thenorthshoreway@gmail.com if your question is not answered in either format. We hope that you enjoy your time on the trails. Look for a sign similar to the one below near each trailhead.
